Our theater class had another paper due today, so yesterday we worked on that and relaxed.
I took a GREAT nap.
Due to the fact that I got about 4 hours of sleep- thanks to our wonderful neighbors in our apartment, who decided to watch TV until 2 and the adorable (NOT!) couple that wanted to argue at 3 AM.
We live within a courtyard, so everything echos.
Not to mention the fact that it was blistering hot. And Spaniards DO NOT have air-conditioning.
Today, we went to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Museum.
It was incredible.
Picasso, Degas, Monet, Manet, Pissaro, Toulouse Lautrec, Pollack, Dali, Renior, Lichtenstien. Van Gogh, Singer-Sargent- you name the artist- they were there.
Cloud 9. Here are some of the works of art that I saw today:
Water Mill at Gennep- Vincent Van Gogh
Duchess Millicent of Sutherland, John Singer Sargent
The Jockeys, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
Swaying Dancer (Dancer in Green), Edgar Degas
If, you can't tell by now, I love art. Especially Impressionism.
Another thing that I love are croissants.
And it just so happens that I had a pretty phenomenal one today.
We had an unknown meat for lunch, so I decided that I should eat my orange and pick up a croissant at the bakery down the street.
Amazing.
My new goal this summer is to learn how to make these.
I can just imagine it now. Warm out of the oven with nutella drizzled on top. YUM!
And it is also raining today, which is a nice change.
It definitely cooled things off!
But, we now know that the rain in Spain does not stay on the plane as My Fair Lady has told us. :)
